The CERI Team Mentor program is an official “Sister” program of the MIT Venture Mentoring Service. As a result of Charlie and Carolyn undertaking the necessary training at MIT, CERI is able to offer the MIT based program to assist our emerging companies. The mentor program follows a strict Code of Conduct and Governance Plan clearly detailing expectations, roles and responsibilities thus ensuring transparency and trust are core values of the teams. Our mentors are all experienced, highly skilled successful professionals and they are all focused on what they can give, not what they can get from program participation. From private and public, national and international companies, every mentor is a role-model for those who join CERI. A unique point of difference of this world class mentor program is the team aspect, which brings not one, but at least mentors together with each start-up team.
This is a very powerful aspect of the program.
It is a core value of CERI that we provide the best support possible for our start-ups in a nurturing and positive environment. The role of our mentors is to guide mentees on their entrepreneurial journey through sharing their experiences, contacts, successes and failures.
At the completion of the second module of the CERI program (Concept to Creation) start-ups can apply to participate in the Team Mentor Program. It is at the mentor’s discretion who they wish to work with, based on fit and suitability.
Quarterly meetings of mentors provide an opportunity for mentors to meet each other and expand their networks within the innovation ecosystem. In addition, any team challenges can be discussed and solutions offered from the mentor "brain trust" or pool of mentors.
The committment from mentors we ask is 4-5 hours per month for start-ups teams.
Education and knowledge sharing are key principles of CERI and the mentors are included. Regular mentor training sessions are delivered by experienced and highly trained professionals to ensure we maintain the integrity and high standard of our mentor program.
Expressions of interest from potential mentors are welcome.
Membership into the CERI Team Mentor Program includes completion of the program application form and an interview with the Lead Mentor and CERI Executive.
